Ikwetie participated in RebelsFunding’s trading competition, won a $5000 copper account and became funded (262 days ago). With patience, consistency, and zero monetary investment, he has received a total of 7 payouts, and is still working towards more.
His story tells us that determination and sticking to your trading plan are far more important than chasing a quick jackpot. Small steps can lead to great results (as long as they are taken in the right direction over time).
It also shows that the smallest program (a little investment) can help someone from a humble background make money and build success.
Let’s hear from him:
My name is Ikwetie Segun Michael, and I come from Nigeria. I’m someone who is very goal-oriented and values knowledge greatly. I believe that discipline and continuous learning are the foundation of success, not only in trading, but in life.
I’m a typical scalper. I trade fast, short-term moves and try to take advantage of even the smallest opportunities. That’s where I feel the most confident.
The most important thing is to have a solid trading plan:
– Define what you want to achieve,
– Build a strategy based on that,
– And stick to it even when things aren’t going well.
I try to stick to risk management. When I’m in a drawdown, I consciously reduce my position size and trade more cautiously. I don’t want to let emotions take over, I’d rather step back.
Trading with RebelsFunding has truly changed my life. It’s a great prop firm, fair, reliable, and friendly. I hope this continues for as long as possible, because the income I’m generating is a huge help for me, given my circumstances.
I mostly focus on gold (XAUUSD) and sometimes USDJPY. Both of these markets have high liquidity, which is ideal for scalping. I understand them well and feel at home trading them.
Yes, it definitely helps technically. I monitor the statistics and performance displayed directly on the platform, and I can see my progress.
My biggest success was definitely the moment I got out of a drawdown after three months. It was a mentally tough period.
On the other hand, my biggest failure came when I broke my own rules and ignored risk management. It was a valuable lesson.
Today I know that even the smallest mistakes can have a big impact, but also that small steps can lead to big results. As the saying goes: “Little drops of water make a mighty ocean.”
When losses come, I simply stop, take a deep breath, and face them head-on. It’s not easy, but I know it’s part of the game.
The faster I accept it, the better I can move forward. Usually, I take a break for a few days and return only when I’m calm again.
Sometimes yes, mainly for orientation, to see what’s going on, how long and intense the trend is, etc. But they’re not the core of my strategy; they’re more of a supplement, which works well for me.
I definitely want to stay in trading long-term. Just like with my funded account, which I’ve had for 262 days, I want to keep trading steadily, step by step. I’ve already received 7 payouts, and I hope to keep going at this pace.
RebelsFunding has truly helped me change my life. I’d rate them 10 out of 10. Their services are fast, transparent, and accessible to everyone. The whole team comes across as friendly and fair. I’m very grateful that I found them.
