I Don’t Chase Big Profits – Interview with Successful Funded Trader, Parvinder

1. Tell us about yourself

My name is Parvinder, I’m originally from India, but I’ve been living in Bahrain for some time now, working as a security guard. Alongside my job, I started getting into trading, which has really caught my interest. Even though it’s a challenging path, I truly enjoy it and see it as my future.

2. What strategies work best for you in trading?

I stick to a trend-following strategy. I try to go with the market, not against it. I enter trades with reasonable risk. As it is often said, risk is key. Personally, I don’t focus too much on the risk/reward ratio; what’s more important to me is keeping the risk under control. For example, I follow the 1% rule per trade, and that has worked well for me.

3. What advice would you give to other traders who want to be successful?

Simply put, good risk management and small lot sizes. There’s no need to chase big profits right away. Success in trading is about consistency, not big wins.

4. How do you manage emotions during tough market situations or during drawdowns?

Honestly, I still struggle with trading emotions. We’re humans, not machines. I don’t think it’s possible to trade completely emotionlessly, but I try to keep them under control and not let them take over.

6. What markets or pairs do you focus on and why?

I exclusively trade XAUUSD. Why gold specifically? I can’t fully explain it, but I have a connection to that market. I’m just drawn to it and feel comfortable trading it.

7. Does the RF-Trader platform help improve your performance?

Honestly, I only trade from my phone, so it’s not ideal. It’s not as comfortable as on a computer, but it still works. Maybe if I had a better desktop setup, I would make even more use of it.

8. Can you share your biggest success and your biggest setback on your trading journey?

I’ve been trading for about three years now and have tried many prop firms. Unfortunately, many of them ended up refusing to pay out my profits (sometimes rightfully because I broke the rules). But with RebelsFunding, there are fewer rules, and they’re clear and fair.

And this helped me a lot. My biggest success was finally receiving a payout after so many attempts. My biggest setback? Probably a mental one. When things aren’t going well and your payout gets rejected, it really brings me down. But I’m learning and I’m not giving up.

9. How do you deal with losses and what do you do during drawdowns?

Honestly, it’s still hard. Losses hurt. But I try to look ahead and learn from them(losses). I don’t fight the market. When it shows me I’m wrong, I accept it and wait for the next opportunity on another day.

10. Do you use technical indicators?

No, not at all. I trade purely based on price action and trend. I tried indicators, but they didn’t work for me.

11. What are your future plans in trading?

My goal is to get to a $200k account and have a monthly profit of around 2–3%. I don’t want to overdo it. I want to go slow and steady. I believe that is the path to long-term success.

12. How would you rate RebelsFunding as a company?

I give them 10 out of 10. In Bahrain, I do have to pay a withdrawal tax on the profits, which is a bit frustrating, but that’s out of my control.
